The Advanced Rootkit Scan in cPShield-v2 plugin for cPanel/WHM provides the following options:
Scan
-> The "Rootkit Scan" option performs a complete and comprehensive scan on the Server which involves, updating the existing database, generating signatures for existing binaries, scanning for known rootkits, Checking for login backdoors, Performing trojan specific checks, checks on the network ports, and generates a Summary at the end. There is also an option to view the log for the current scan which was conducted.
-> The "Scan for Warnings" options conducts a similar scan as the Scan for Rootkits option but filters out all the "Not Found" parameters and displays only those messages which are Warnings. There is an option to view the log for the current scan which was conducted.
Scan Logs
-> The "Recent Logs" shows the log of the last scan that was conducted on the server.
-> The "Daily Log" shows the log file of the Daily scan that was conducted on the server.
Settings
-> The "Update Rkhunter" is used to update rootkit database, bad programs database, backdoor ports databases and language files.
-> Under the "Daily Scan Cron" option the Add Cron button adds a Daily cronjob to run the Rootkit Scan on a Daily Basis.
-> Once this has been set, Under the "Email Settings" option appears where an email can be specified wherein once a daily cronjob has run, an email notification is sent to that email address. Click the submit button to save the email settings.
-> The Remove Email button removes the saved Email address from the "Email Settings".
-> The Remove Cron button removes any Daily Cron which has been set to run the Rootkit Scan on a Daily Basis.
